Cookbook Clubs have been cropping up all over the country, and the Westerly Library is excited to start our own group in October 2017!
What is a cookbook club?
While every group will be a bit different, the concept is the same — a group of individuals meet to discuss a specific cookbook, while taste-testing and sharing dishes that they’ve prepared from the book. The whole thing is similar to your run-of-the-mill book club, but with the added benefit of food!
Westerly Library Cookbook Club
Our cookbook club meets on Monday evenings once a month, from 6:00-7:30 p.m.
Each month we will choose a different cookbook to focus on, and copies will be made available for check out at the Reference Desk 3 weeks before the club meets.
Participants must sign up in advance, either through the website or at the library.
On the day of the meeting, participants should bring their prepared dish with them. Paper plates and cutlery will be available, but participants are encouraged to bring their own plates and utensils from home!
Recipes should be ready to eat, as we will not be able to cook them on-site…for this reason, dishes served cold or room-temperature may be ideal.
